Close to Kankroli is the dam built by Maharana Raj Singh in 1660 AD. Many embellishing arches and magnificent 'chhatris' adorn the embankment. Sixty-five kms from Udaipur, it is arguably the most beautiful lake in Rajasthan. There are beautiful 'torans', gardens and carved 'chhatris' around the lake. The sunset at the lake is absolutely splendid


Rajsamand is situated at the southern tip of Rajasthan and is oval in shape with a very narrow strip stretching towards the North. The district adjoins Udaipur, Pali, Bhilwara, Ajmer and Chittor districts. The district of Rajsamand is located 65 km from Udaipur and was constituted on 10th April, 1990. The district was named after the famous lake "Rajsamand" built by Maharana Raj Singh. The place is very well known for its marble production as the largest marble producing district as well as the single largest unit in the whole country. Road : The National Highway No.8, Delhi-Ahmedabad-Mumbai road passes through the district and connects Rajsamand to Delhi.
